Piano Lessons

Maria began taking her first piano lessons in the third grade and has continued to take them throughout college. While taking the most joy in beginning and/or young players, all students are invited to study piano with Maria. Piano lessons with Maria will focus on steady progress towards advanced musicianship in regards to sight-reading, music reading, ear training, and scale techniques while looking towards end goals of perfecting pieces and playing a variety of styles.

Group Events

Maria has worked with several groups in the Metro-Detroit area. While mostly working with school and church choirs or community center performing programs, feel free to inquire about all types of group coaching or directing. Bringing Maria in is a fun way to learn new warm-ups, perfect important pieces, and improve tuning, breathing, or blending within your group.

Maria has worked with the St. Lawrence Children's Choir in Utica, MI. She has also done minor work with their adult choir. The choirs their have benefited from warm-ups and fine-tuning of pieces. The children's choir has also benefiting from some conducting.

In 2012, Maria was the music director for The Park Players in Detroit's North Rosedale Park. Helping the children's theatre perform hit music "How to Eat Like a Child", Maria helped students with solos, taught chorus numbers, gave instruction on how to keep high energy singing on stage, and was the accompanist for the performances. This wonderful community group gave two wonderful sold out performances under Maria's music direction.
